Massive fire in my town.
Apparently, there’s been someone/some people in my general area that have been setting fires in Colorado Springs and nearby counties in the past couple weeks, and it’s now within a mile of Manitou Springs, where I live. It’s currently on its way to William’s Canyon, coming from Waldo Canyon. I currently live right at the base of William’s Canyon.
It’s spreading really quickly, and pillars of fiery smoke are taking over the town’s sky. My friends and I went to the fire department to attempt to volunteer or see if we could help with anything, and they told us to go back home and do nothing, or else we’d face arrest. People in town are just sitting and watching. I really don’t want to see this beautiful place burn.
We’re probably going to get evacuated. I really hope not, but I’m posting this just in case anything ends up happening. Off to pack my bags. This is ridiculous…
