artbygeek sent: I honestly do get why you're wasting your time when tumblr sees something wrong it's not about correcting somebody and moving on or the right context it's about being self-righteous

I don’t think it’s a waste of time…I’m actually getting a lot of good practice done with these challenges, which is pretty exciting. I know more about anatomy than I did yesterday! It’s not about trying to be right and covering my insecurities by proving others wrong or whatever (that’s a dangerous cycle to be in). I’m simply defending my point as calmly and logically as I can, in attempt to have others understand what I’m trying to express. I really try to take into account all other perspectives to the best of my ability. I understand where the critics are coming from, and I think a lot of said points are valid, even if some of them are coated in unnecessary anger.

I really think that one of the biggest problems with humanity is our segregation, and more specifically, our lack of effective communication and understanding. We are very quick to judge others, but it seems that we’re not nearly as eager to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes.
